Quality of Life

Patersonians deserve to live in a clean, safe and healthy city. As Councilwoman At-Large, Paula Alford will tackle two challenges that are negatively impacting our quality of life in our city—the unsightly bulk garbage littering our sidewalks and streets, and the lack of residential parking.

Implement a simple bulk garbage process that works for residents

The first issue is the unsightly garbage. A bulk garbage pick up process was adopted that has clearly not worked for our residents. On any given day across the city, there are abandoned mattresses and other furniture littering our streets. As Councilwoman At-Large, Paula Alford will continue the audit that is currently underway and ensure that a simple, new process that works for our residents, and fits within our budget is urgently implemented.

Create more residential parking options across the city

The lack of parking is a big frustration for residents across our City. As Councilwoman At-Large, Paula Alford will create a committee that will bring the Paterson Parking Authority, residents, businesses and other key stakeholders together to identify parking solutions that can work for our city.
